About the Conference

The conference is expected to attract more than 1,500 participants — the experts in the field of sustainable development, environmental, social and corporate governance, representatives of the world’s leading universities, international organizations and government bodies.

The main theme of 2025  is the achievement of 17 sustainable development goals by the CIS member states by 2030.

The core target audience is made up of representatives of expert scientific communities in Russia and the CIS member states.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss priority issues of our time, problems and challenges, possible trends and directions of development of the CIS member states by the expert and youth scientific community, as well as to raise awareness of the global goals of sustainable development of humanity.

RUDN University will act as a working platform for the exchange of experience among young scientists, company leaders, representatives of government bodies and experts in the field of sustainable development, environmental, social and corporate governance. Specialists will share their knowledge and experience for the implementation of scientific, academic and socially significant projects to achieve 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2025 the regional focus of the Conference is the CIS countries.

Contests

RUDN University invites young researchers — leaders who are ready to change the world for the better — to participate in the conference events.

For this purpose, youth contests are organized under the auspices of the conference:

for students of RUDN University
Contest “Project Start: Scientific Agenda on Host Countries” — 2025
for students of RUDN University
Case Championship
for students of other Russian universities
“Countries of the World: Partnership for Sustainable Development” — 2025

What is sustainable development?

It suggests that the quality of human life should be improved, and the negative impact on the environment should be minimized. The society’s demand for serious changes towards sustainability is increasing every year.

In 2015 the UN General Assembly developed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The final document of the General Assembly “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” contains 17 global goals.

Participation in Conference

PARTICIPATION FORMS

Why should an expert register and invite colleagues to participate in the conference?

We care about the fate of future generations. We are concerned about whether there will be enough clean drinking water, what our children and grandchildren will eat, and whether they will be guaranteed the protection of human rights and freedoms. We are concerned about the preparedness of health systems for a new pandemic, because we have already experienced one.
We have created a unique working platform for the exchange of experience among scientists, company leaders, government representatives and experts in the field of sustainable development, ESG-agenda. For two years, the conference was aimed at students and young scientists. At the third and fourth conferences, expert and youth tracks run in parallel — these are more than 20 scientific events annually.
We are proud of the level of invited speakers and their geography: last year, 130 experts from 30 countries joined us. The level of invited speakers: ministers, heads of relevant organizations in the field of sustainable development and reputable university rankings.
We want students to develop as specialists and learn from industry experts, learn the best cases and learn to apply them to their regions.
We understand that the path to achieving a better global future begins with everyone’s daily actions. We want to learn how to reduce our carbon footprint and make our behavior more environmentally friendly.
We want to support the large team of the organizing committee of the RUDN University conference — the theme of the Sustainable Development Goals brought together all faculties, institutes and the RUDN University Academy, the scientific block, the Center for Sustainable Development, communication specialists and representatives of all infrastructure services. The youth track is coordinated by student research specialists: they conduct preliminary events to prepare students for participation in the expert conference. Contests for students of RUDN University and Russian universities, a partner competition of creative works in cooperation with the Moscow Art and Industry Institute and the first case championship are held on the sidelines of the conference.

For anyone who is ready to think, discuss, and act, registration is open and available via the link.
